Portraits are special

I love flipping through the pet books and magazines, but only rarely was I wowed by a portrait.  Photos are fun and I’ve taken thousands of them.  Portraits are something much more.

Portraits are those special moments that last forever.  A portrait is something I have a large copy or special product of.  It’s something that makes me want to show it to everyone I meet.  It has more value and is a moment to share time and again.

Capturing That Special Quality

I am looking to take that special quality of an animal and bring it out of them so that we can capture it and enjoy it forever.  Sometimes, it’s a look, sometimes it’s an attitude, sometimes it’s a willingness to let us dress it up with an outfit or put a fun prop with it.  Whatever it is, I know that every animal has something special about it.

My goal as "The Pawtographer", is to capture it in a professional setting.  So many photos I see of peoples animals are from above or without the best clarity.  I get right down on the ground and utilize every tool of the trade I have.

I like to call my shooting style "Full Contact Photography", as I have been knocked down, stepped on, jumped on and I'll stop there, but I look forward to each new animal I meet.  For me, I have to be willing to get on the same level of the animal to earn it's trust and capture the looks from the right angles.
